Dave Jackson remembrance planned

L'anse Creuse North's Student Council is hosting a "Mr. Jackson Remembrance" after the varsity basketball game on Friday night.
Organizers are asking that as many people as possible attend the 7 p.m. game. The remembrance ceremony will start immediately following the game -- at approximately 9 p.m. -- in the school cafeteria. The ceremony will include a student-created video tribute.
After that, those in attendance will be invited outside for a candlelight gathering to be held on the football field. The remembrance will conclude with a silent "Victory Lap" in honor of Jackson around the track, with participants exiting tot he parking area once the lap is completed.
Guests are asked to bring their own candle.
L'Anse Creuse North is located at 23700 21 Mile Road.

Romeo's Shaddock signs



Romeo High’s Victoria Shaddock has signed to play softball at Concordia University in Ann Arbor.
“Victoria has an outstanding bat and is expected to come in and put it to use,” said Concordia coach Greg Brierley. “Victoria is an excellent infielder who can play second base, third base or shortstop. She will be looked at to be an example on and off the field.”
Concordia is an NAIA school and the Lady Cardinals compete in the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference.

Ford competitive cheer team on a roll at tournaments


Ford's competitive cheer team won the MAC Crossover Tournament at Anchor Bay on Wednesday. It was the Falcons' third championship in as many weeks, following first-place finishes at the L'Anse Creuse and L'Anse Creuse North invitationals.
