High winds Tuesday wreaked havoc across the area, but that didn’t stop Taylor Clark from putting in some time on the driving range.
The Utica sophomore golfer hit a bucket of balls yesterday at an optional practice, with all of her drives going into a heavy headwind.
Clark’s hard work paid off Wednesday when she navigated blustery conditions – though not nearly as windy as Tuesday – on Romeo Golf Course’s South Course to earn medalist honors with a 37 in Utica’s victory over Port Huron Northern.
The triumph was another strong performance for Utica, which has improved to 3-1 in the MAC Red Division.
PHN finished fifth at last year’s Division 2 state finals.
